Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is an ancient science that recognizes the deep connection between the body, emotions, mind, and spirit. Through the practices of this tradition, we learn to observe and release conditioned patterns that no longer serve us, guiding the direction of change toward our highest potential. By weaving yoga therapy into daily life, we cultivate balance and restore wellness across all dimensions of our being. With patience, perseverance, and love, this lifelong journey leads us to lasting peace and illuminated healing. Yoga therapy seeks for the root of suffering—transforming symptoms that can change, and finding acceptance and harmony with those that cannot. 

Yoga Therapy is for ANYONE and EVERYONE. Some people have very specific concerns they want to address and others may just want to maintain their health or work towards more balance and wholesomeness in their lives. Examples include but are not limited to yoga for stress relief, cancer, grief, heart disease, depression, pain from injury, osteoporosis, anxiety, fibromyalgia, relationship renewal. You will receive maximum benefit if you are open to change and transformation in your life and you are ready to let go of self-destructive patterns and habits. Yoga therapy can allow you to reclaim responsibility for your own well being.

What can I expect in a One on One session?

Sessions are one on one and 45 minutes long.  I will have you fill out an intake form and then we will discuss what you hope to get out of your Yoga Therapy experience. I will ask questions and do a posture assessment and then introduce you to techniques and tools that we practice together and you implement in your daily routine. Some of these tools may include meditation, pranayama (breath work), asana (physical postures), mudras (intentional hand postures), Ayurveda (science of yoga), chakra therapy (energy work), sound therapy, and self-reflection questions. You can then utilize these to begin a daily home practice that works to unify, balance and heal your body, mind, and spirit. I recommend meeting as least 6 times in a 8-12 week span of time to enhance and refine the practice as needed.

What can I expect in a Gentle Yoga class?

The Gentle/Therapeutic yoga class utilizes appropriate props such as chairs, bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps to allow for maximum comfort and support during movement. Focus is on using breath for healing and building mindfulness of mind and body connection. Majority of postures are done on the floor with ample time for rest and observation with a few standing postures based on class capability. Designed for people who need modifications based on injury, imbalance, chronic pain or physical limitations and those who need to slow down in general. Great for stress management and building body awareness. 

Sacred Circle

Now leading sacred women's circles honoring the rites of passage and our feminine cycles. Themes can be monthly such as moon phase, quarterly such as equinox/solstice, or yearly ritual and celebrations. Free Phone consult to bring ideas to life. Can create new circle with personal friends ($200) or join pre-existing circle ($30). 

Yoga Therapy

Private Yoga Therapy sessions at TRIA in the form of TRIA Well Consults.  Each visit is 45-60 minutes and involves initial intake/assessment and creating a home practice for all around wellness.

Recommend 6-8 sessions over 9-12 weeks to establish a home practice and refine as needed.
